【Abstract】 Idioms, is part of the traditional culture by the one thousand creation of temper and form. In china, it is into the Chinese nation language thinking series deeply. As we have learned, current primary school teaching is a weak link for idiom. Generally, there are two ways:One is the teaching idiom in the reading; the other is we have the idiom directly extracted from teaching. The two forms are going to give it short shrift basically, and we don’t deep cut idioms connotation. Idiom-teaching is more specialized. The teacher pay more attention to if the students remember the idiom or not through the simply rote in this course. Idiom-teaching is just the form now. Factors of the inherent cultural and the education potential failed to get the full and effective development and utilization. In view of the present situation of the idiom-teaching, the author believes the discussion and optimization of teaching method about idiom is imperative in primary school.The first part of this paper firstly overviews about research works of idioms teaching at home and abroad, Then elaborates the importance of idioms teaching. In the second and third part, combining with actual situation of idioms teaching in a primary school of Xi Cheng district, the author summarizes and analyzes the current status of the idioms teaching of elementary school. The author points out the main problems about idioms teaching in the primary school are more time-consuming and low efficiency, and then it states the main reasons of the problems. Finally, it emphasizes the necessity of selection of a subject. The fourth part is the main body of the paper. The author mainly explains several idioms teaching methods in details from different perspectives, mainly including:learning idioms by classification, learning idioms by infiltrating in the moral education, learning idioms by oral communication, learning idioms by writing, learning idioms in the games, and so on.The author describes the main process by using questionnaire method and the action research. With the qualitative and quantitative analysis method, the author has proved the feasibility and effectiveness of idioms teaching methods which are in the fourth part. The ending of the paper is about concluding remarks. This paper has certain theoretical significance and application value. The author thinks that the research results can enrich the theories of idioms teaching in primary school and idioms teaching methods, guide idioms teaching practice, help students to accumulate and use idioms. Therefore, it will help students improve their Chinese accomplishment significantly.
