背诵对韩国初学者汉语输出的作用

【摘要】 背诵法是古老的一种学习办法,其简单易于操作,因此在语言学习中被不少人使用,但不少教师把背诵看作“死记硬背”,对其作用评价甚低。而实际上背诵是较符合人类外语习得过程(输入—摄入—输出)的教学法,为了完成背诵任务,学习者需要重复语言输入过程,促使其将注意力集中于信息存储、保持、连接到目的语的输出。因此,笔者认为背诵法是适合于汉语初学者使用的有效方式。为此,在征得实习学校同意后,笔者设计了12名被试的定期实验,共提供3次背诵任务(共27个句子),观察并分析了背诵前后,韩国汉语初学者读资料时的语速变化、对汉语句子结构掌握的正确度以及默写短文过程中所输出的汉语上的差别。通过为期1个月时间的实验,最终得出的实验结果为:1.背诵对汉语初学者读资料的语速产生影响——提高语速;2.在书写句子结构方面存在共同的偏误,但因题型不同所产生的各种偏误比例各不相同,其中“省略”与“语序”的偏误比例最高;3.背诵对汉语初学者正确掌握汉语句式结构产生积极影响;4.背诵对汉语初学者正确使用副词产生作用;5.背诵使汉语初学者写短文的长度增加、词汇和句型多样化。本研究以教学实验为基础,具体分析背诵法在韩国汉语初学者语言输出中的作用,是对汉语输出研究领域的扩展和深化,对韩国初级水平的高中生汉语的习得具有一定的实用价值。但是由于主客观条件的限制,被试人数、实验时长都存在一定局限,因此该研究在广度和深度上都有待进一步探讨。

【Abstract】 Recitation from memory represents one of the more traditional approaches of foreignlanguage learning. Though its relative simplicity has contributed to its widespread acceptance,recitation is now often perceived as an outdated form of “rote” learning and hence undervaluedby teachers. In fact, recitation accords well with the “input–absorb-output” model of foreignlanguage acquisition. In order to complete a recitation, learners must repeat the “input” stage,then focus attention on information storage, then maintain it in memory until they “output” in thetarget language. Thus we believe recitation to be an effective approach for beginning learners ofChinese.In this study, we asked12participants to complete3recitation tasks (involving a total of27sentences), and afterwards observed and analyzed the change in reading speed, mastery ofsentence structures, and writing composition among beginning Korean learners of Chinese.After a month of experimentation, we reached the following conclusions:1. Recitation increased the reading speed of beginning Korean learners of Chinese.2. Common errors do exist in the task of writing sentence structures, though inconsistenciesin the questions themselves led to discrepancies in proportions of each type of errors: we foundthat errors of omission and misordering were the most common.3. Recitation had a positive effect on the mastery of sentence structures of beginningKorean learners of Chinese.4. Recitation was effective in promoting the correct usage of adverbs in beginning Koreanlearners of Chinese.5. Recitation caused beginning learners to write longer compositions, with more diversevocabulary and sentence structures. This research is based on practical teaching experiments, in particular the analysis of theeffect of recitation on the output of beginning learners of Chinese. It expands and deepens ourpresent understanding of Chinese output among non-native learners, with a particular practicalvalue for such learning among Korean high schoolers. With its limited sample size and scale,these results represent only an exploratory endeavor, and more research is obviously needed todeepen our knowledge in this particular area.
