【Abstract】 In language teaching of the high school, the classical teaching has been playing a very heavy historical responsibility. Language education is a cultural education, classical education is valid, a direct impact on our ability to get a long ancient cultural heritage and promote the good. At the same time, the study of ancient poetry can also enhance students’ literary accomplishment, noble sentiment. Therefore, the classical teaching occupation indispensable role in language courses.Of course, Learning classical is the learning of classical Chinese ancient culture. In ancient cultures, the ancient name thing is a very important part. If we say that the ancient culture is a vast ocean, then the ancient name of substance word like that sea water droplets, it is steeped in ancient culture in every corner, contains bits and pieces of life in ancient times among. So we want to know the ancient culture, the ancient name of substance word can be seen a very good starting point. Starting from the ancient name of substance word, students can not only enjoy the different characteristics of the times of ancient and modern, regional customs, and other cultural figures emotional knowledge, but also to enhance reading comprehension from the perspective of classical knowledge, and thus enhance their writing skills. Some savvy students is a good knowledge of history and philosophy can be combined organic, to achieve mastery, will have a solid high school courses to learn thoroughly.However, this is worth our attention teaching the word of the ancient name of substance, but it has not been well implemented in many schools there are a variety of problems. Some teachers feel that the relationship is not content with classical learning, the examination does not test so do not learn to teach; also took some teachers teaching reference perfunctory, it allows students to text translation and satisfied, to express the meaning of the article confused, half-comprehended. This approach seriously violated the principle of unity of language courses is instrumental and humanity. This problem from the microscopic point of view the first students will encounter obstacles when doing exercises, followed by the impact of the students’ understanding of ancient cultures, missed a good opportunity to touch history and culture, from a macro point of view of China’s five thousand years will hinder inherit and carry forward the long history of civilization. Therefore, adding some words with the ancient name of substance-related knowledge in high school teaching classical necessary.In response to the problems above,we will read literature and statistical analysis and other research methods, knowledge of the content of high school teaching classical ancient name of substance word summarizes the system, and proposed to solve this problem the appropriate teaching strategies, hope can contribute to a better high school language courses conducted.
