【Abstract】 The high school curriculum is set up and its intended target is carried out. Developing and using the curriculum resources effectively are important means to achieve the education and teaching objectives. The curriculum resources which teachers can obtain and choose are extensive and diverse. The textbook is one of the important curriculum resources. It is of great significance to find, develop and use curriculum resources from the textbook. It can not only create an efficient classroom and achieve the goal of teaching and education, but it also can promote the new curriculum reform to be more deepen. There are many versions of China’s current high school politics textbooks. The most commonly used textbooks that consist of the texts, auxiliary texts and illustrations are published by the people’s Education Press. Illustrations play important roles in the process of reaching 3-D objectives because of its large quantities, diverse forms, rich contents, vivid images and profound influence on students’ characters. It’s of great advantages to achieve the 3-D Objectives of Ideological and Political discipline to explore the design, functions and values of the illustrations in textbooks, to analyze the relationship between illustrations and the 3-D objectives,and to search for the means and systems to make full use of them. It is a research with theoretical values and practical significance. Based on 3-D Objectives, the paper discusses the application of the illustrations in textbooks in Senior Ideological and Political Course. The main contents of this paper include the following aspects.First, the paper focuses on analyzing the researching reasons. According to the interview of teachers and students, some problems existed in Illustration-Teaching are analyzed. Secondly, the paper reviews the researches on the use of illustrations by Chinese and foreign scholars, finding that researches of illustrations in the past are more emphasized on the function of illustration and researches of Illustration-Teaching are too broad, which are lack of pertinence and systematicness. This provides ideas for the research of this paper and extends the depth. Thirdly, based on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, Dewey’s Teaching Material Psychologization and Ausubel’s Assimilation Theory of Cognitive Learning, a theoretical framework for decomposing the 3-D Objectives in detail and Illustration-Teaching is set up. With elaborating and demonstrating in depth, the paper explores the design of the illustrations in textbooks from the composition, characteristics and functions, and analyzes the relationships between the illustrations and the three-dimensional objectives. Also, this paper analyzes the reasons of the problems existing in the application of the illustrations in textbooks in Senior Ideological and Political course, and combines with the theoretical framework in the third chapter, many examples are used to analyze the ways to achieve the three-dimensional objectives by using illustrations in textbooks. Some effective methods are put forward. Finally, the paper makes a reflection on the practical teaching, points out the principles that should be followed when using illustrations to teach and learn, and puts forward some suggestions to improve the design of textbook illustrations.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in discussing the relationship between illustrations in textbooks and 3-D objective and explicating the countermeasures to achieve the three-dimensional objectives by using the illustrations in textbooks of Senior Ideological and Political course in detail. Considering the curriculum objectives of knowledge and skills, teachers and students can use illustrations to explain the knowledge of the course. To realize the curriculum objectives of process, methods and abilities, teachers and students can use illustrations throughout the whole course, expand learning methods and highlight abilities of the Ideological and Political course. Considering the curriculum objectives of emotion, the author explores the ways to guide the students’ emotions, cultivate the attitude of the discipline and establish the correct values by using illustrations in textbooks.
