中学英语课堂教学中的无声语言(身势语)的运用研究

【摘要】 中学英语教学的目的就是培养学生综合运用语言的能力。但当前很多中学生的英语水平不容乐观,学生对英语缺乏兴趣。为了提高课堂教学效果,英语教师应该要注意有声语言与无声语言——身势语在教学中的综合运用。虽然身势语是一种无声语言,但有时它比有声语言更能清楚地表达我们的意思。因此,在中学英语课堂教学中,身势语扮演着非常重要的角色。本文首先分析了身势语研究的背景、理由和意义,其次分析了身势语研究的发展历程并介绍了身势语的定义、特点、分类以及其在英语课堂教学中的作用,接着.从听力、口语、阅读、写作几个方面阐述了身势语在中学英语课堂教学中的运用,最后指出身势语在英语教学中的运用原则。通过教学实践后发现:一方面,身势语可以活跃英语课堂的学习气氛,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生乐于参与课堂活动,而且能帮助学生提高听、说、读、写的水平,给学生留下深刻的印象。另一方面,正确运用身势语能促进师生间的互相了解,帮助师生建立起良好的关系,从而提高教学效果。因此,在中学英语课堂教学中教师应重视身势语并合理地运用它。

【Abstract】 The aim of English teaching in middle school is to cultivate the students’ comprehensive communicative ability. But nowadays, the English ability of many middle school students is poor, because of their lack of interest in learning English. In order to improve the class teaching results, English teachers need to combine the nonverbal language---body language with the verbal language in the process of teaching. Although body language is a nonverbal language, it can help us express ourselves more clearly sometimes. So body language plays a very important role in middle school English class teaching.This thesis firstly analyses the background, reasons and significance of the study of body language. Secondly, it analyses the development of the body language and introduces the definition, characteristics, classification and function of body language in English class teaching. Then it expounds the application of body language in middle school English class teaching from four aspects:listening, speaking, reading and writing. Lastly, it indicates the principle on how to apply body language to English teaching. The findings from the teaching practice are as follows:On the one hand, the proper using of body language can activate study atmosphere at English class and it can stimulate the students’ interest in learning English, making them happy to participate in classroom activities. Moreover, the application of body language can help students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing level and leave the students deeper impression. On the other hand, the proper using of body language can improve the further mutual understanding between the teachers and the students and help them develop a good relationship, promoting the teaching effectiveness. Therefore, the teachers should pay much attention to body language and properly use it in middle school English class teaching.
